For 2010, Gosford City Football Club is excited to announce the introduction of a 'high potential' Youth Academy program, targeted at girls and boys aged 14-18 years.
The program will involve the identification of high potential players in the target age group, being invited to participate in one additional training night each week. These inaugural Academy players will be integrated into our Men's 1st Division, and Women's Premier League training sessions, under instruction from fully certified coaches, with an emphasis being placed on skills development and tactical awareness. Mentoring from our most senior players in these divisions will also be a key part of this program.
Player selection will be based largely on assessment of performance in the relevant age group grading sessions.
